Opioid Awareness and Stigma Project
The Problem
Opioid addiction was devastating communities, and the stigma around it was keeping people from seeking help. Many still saw addiction as a moral failure, not a disease. The challenge: change perceptions, create empathy, and show that addiction doesn’t discriminate.
The Insight
When someone tells their story, it becomes harder to judge them. Real stories create understanding in ways statistics never can. By focusing on humanity instead of horror, we could replace stigma with compassion, and open minds to the idea that addiction is a disease, not a choice.
The Solution
We built a campaign centered on real people who shared their journeys through addiction and recovery. Their stories were paired with thoughtful illustration adding visual depth, and engagement while protecting their dignity and humanity.
The result was a campaign that invited empathy instead of shame, sparking meaningful conversations about recovery and reminding audiences that addiction can affect anyone, but recovery can too.
